Derrick Sabourin

Derrick is the owner and operator of Samson Waters, a short term rental management company serving properties across SilverStar. He manages a portfolio of approximately 25 properties on the mountain, where he oversees operations at The Pinnacles building.

His day to day work on the mountain gives him a ground level understanding of what makes SilverStar attractive to visitors and what keeps them coming back. From coordinating guest experiences and maintaining high property standards to navigating the unique logistics of mountain operations across all four seasons, Derrick has developed a practical, hands on perspective on the resort community’s strengths and opportunities.

Derrick has built his business around leveraging technology to operate more efficiently and deliver better results. From automating guest communications to building custom tools that streamline the guest experience, he consistently looks for ways to replace manual processes with smarter, scalable solutions. As a board member, he would bring that same mindset to Destination SilverStar, looking for opportunities to use data, automation, and digital tools to strengthen marketing efforts, improve visitor engagement, and make good use of the organization’s resources.

He sees technology not as a replacement for the personal, community driven character of SilverStar, but as a way to amplify it and reach more of the right people. He brings to the board an operator’s perspective grounded in real world experience managing properties, coordinating with owners, and solving problems on the mountain daily. His combination of hospitality knowledge, entrepreneurial drive, and commitment to innovation would make him a practical and forward thinking addition to the Destination SilverStar board.
